An Evaluation of Serum Protein Fractionation Using a Methyl Orange Method for Determination of Albumin.
نویسنده
چکیده
Fractionations of serum proteins using dye-binding methods have become popular because such methods are simple and can be adapted easily to automated systems of analysis, and the results of analysis performed on normal serums correlate well with results obtained by other methods. However, the good correlations do not necessarily apply when dealing with abnormal serums. Analysis of a selected group of serums revealed in 14% of cases a relatively poor correlation between fractionation by electrophoresis and a method involving dye binding. Methods of protein fractionation involving dye binding are satisfactory for routine use provided the limitations of these methods are recognized.

Estimation of serum albumin: a comparison of three methods.
Comparison of the methyl orange method of estimation of serum albumin with sodium sulfate fractionation and electrophoretic fractionation on paper showed that the sodium sulfate method may occasionally give much lower results than the other two. This may be due to loss of albumin on the precipitated globulins. Of the three, the methyl orange method tended to give the highest results, but was ap...
متن کاملEvaluation of Aluminum Concentration in Albumin Products Prepared by Blood Fractionation
Human Serum albumin as well as other biological products prepared by blood fractionation for clinical purposes, was found to contain different amount of aluminum in different commercially available human albumin solutions. It has been reported that interaction of chemicals with the container material can occur during plasma collection, manufacture and storage, so aluminum is introduced into alb...

A simple, economical, precise and fast visible spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Azathioprine in tablet dosage form. Developed method is based on the formation of extractable colored complex of drug with colouring agent Indigo Carmine and Methyl orange. A wavelength maximum was found to be 683.7 nm and 566 nm. The concentration range of 15-50 μg mL-1 with of ...
متن کاملComparison of Technics for Estimation of Albumin by Determination of Its Dye-binding Capacity and by Paper Electrophoresis.
Values for serum albumin obtained by the methyl orange and 2-(4’-hydroxyazobenzene) benzoic acid (HABA) dye-absorption methods have been compared with values obtained by Spinco Procedure B paper-electrophoresis system. A good correlation of albumin values has been found by the three methods in serums with albumin/globulin ratios ranging from 0.19 to 3.00. Modifications of the dye-absorption pro...
متن کاملTitrimetric and Spectrophotometric Methods for the Determination of β-blockers in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form
Three new methods using titrimetric and spectrophotometry are described for the determination of Propranolol Hydrochloride (PPH) and Atenolol (AN) with potassium bromate as the oxidimetric reagent and acid dyes, Methyl orange and Indigo carmine. In direct titrimetric (method A), the drug is titrated directly with bromate in acid medium and in the presence of excess of bromide using methyl orang...
